Port Royal was the last pirate strong hold on the island of Jamaica. In 1692 at the height of its prosperity as the most important trading post of the new world an earthquake caused two thirds of the city to sink into the sea. Subsequent fires and hurricanes damaged what remains and it never regained its glory. We've captured what we imagine the port would smell like.
